Introduction
Account security is managed from Settings and the sign-in screens. You can change a local password, enable Google Authenticator, view remaining recovery codes, and start a password reset when you cannot sign in.
Change your password
- Open Settings and go to Security.
- Enter your current password.
- Enter and confirm the new password.
- Confirm the change when prompted.
A successful password change signs you out so you can sign in again with the new credentials. Password controls apply to local or email password accounts; accounts using another provider may show a different setup.
Set up Google Authenticator
In Security, choose Google Authenticator and complete the setup modal with the time-based code from your authenticator app. Once enabled, the app generates time-sensitive codes for secure logins.
Recovery codes
Security shows how many recovery codes remain. Store them in a private place and use one only when you need an alternative to the authenticator code. Treat an exposed recovery code like a credential and do not share it in chat or support messages.
Forgotten passwords
From the sign-in page, open the forgot-password flow and request a reset. Follow the link sent to your account email, set the new password, and return to sign in. If the message does not arrive, check the email address and spam folder before requesting another reset.
Never share passwords, authenticator codes, or recovery codes with another person.
