Introduction

Market (multipliers) is the leveraged product on the trade dashboard. You open a buy or sell position on a volatility index, choose how much notional exposure you want, and pick a leverage multiplier between 1× and 10×. The position stays open until you close it manually or an optional stop loss / take profit triggers.

How Market differs from contracts

Timed contracts (Rise, Fall, Touch, digits, and so on) have a fixed stake, a set duration, and settle automatically as a win or loss.

Market positions are open-ended. Profit and loss move with every tick while the trade is open. You manage the exit yourself. Margin is locked when you open the trade; your wallet balance reflects unrealised P/L as price moves.

What you set on the order form

  • Side — Buy if you expect the index to rise; Sell if you expect it to fall.
  • Amount — Notional size in USD (your exposure on the index, not share count).
  • Leverage — Presets 1×, 2×, 5×, 10× or a custom value up to 10×. Higher leverage lowers required margin but does not multiply P/L.
  • Stop loss / Take profit — Optional prices that close the position automatically.

Margin, fees, and buying power

Required margin is approximately notional ÷ leverage. A $100 exposure at 10× needs about $10 of margin collateral. A trading fee of 0.1% of notional is charged when the order is placed.

The order summary shows margin required, transaction fees, and estimated total deducted from your wallet. Buying power is free margin — equity minus margin already in use — and limits how large your next position can be.

Profit and loss while open

Unrealised P/L updates on every price tick. Buy positions gain when the mark price rises; sell positions gain when it falls. The chart overlay and the Open Trades panel show live P/L for open positions.

When you close a position, realised P/L is credited or debited to your wallet (minus any close fee). Closed trades appear in Trade History alongside settled contracts.

Where to find open Market positions

  • Desktop — Open Trades tab below the chart lists every open contract and Market position across all symbols.
  • Mobile — Positions tab in the bottom nav shows timed contracts and Market positions together.
  • Chart — Lines on the chart mark entry, stop loss, and take profit for the active symbol only.

Opening a 10× buy

Symbol: VOL75

Side: Buy

Amount: $100 notional

Leverage: 10×

Margin required: ~$10

Fee (0.1%): $0.10

If price rises $1 on your notional exposure, unrealised P/L increases accordingly until you close or hit take profit.

Tips

  • Practice on demo first — margin and fees behave the same way, without real funds at risk.
  • Lower leverage needs more margin but can be easier to manage when learning.
  • Use stop loss on volatile indices if you cannot watch the chart continuously.
  • Switching the chart symbol does not hide other open positions — check Open Trades or Positions for the full account view.

Market is the default product on desktop. Use the product switcher on the order panel to move between Market and timed contracts without leaving the trade page.

Frequently asked questions

Does leverage multiply my profit?
No. Leverage only affects how much margin you need to open the trade. Profit and loss follow your notional exposure and price movement.
Can I hold Market and contracts at once?
Yes. They are separate products. Contracts settle on their schedule; Market positions stay open until you close them.
Why is my position not on the chart?
Chart overlays show positions for the symbol you are viewing. Other symbols still appear in Open Trades or the mobile Positions tab.
