Introduction
P2P trading lets you buy or sell USDT directly with another trader. Coinpes shows available offers, keeps the traded USDT in escrow, and gives both sides a trade room for payment details, chat, and status updates.
The marketplace
Open Trade > P2P to browse offers. Each offer shows the merchant, fiat currency, payment method, price, limits, and available amount. Use the filters to find an offer that fits the amount and payment method you can use.
You can also become a merchant by adding a payment account and posting your own advert. An advert can be active, paused, or closed from your merchant dashboard.
Your separate P2P wallet
P2P funds are held in a separate USDT wallet. Move available funds from your real trading account into the P2P wallet before creating or taking offers. Transfers are one-to-one: USD moves in as USDT, and available USDT can move back to your real trading account.
Funds already committed to an open trade are shown as escrow and cannot be transferred until that trade is resolved. Demo balances cannot be used for P2P transfers.
What happens after you take an offer
- The offer is locked for the trade and USDT enters escrow.
- The buyer sends fiat using the seller's listed payment details.
- The buyer marks the payment as sent before the payment window expires.
- The seller checks the payment and releases the escrowed USDT.
- The trade is marked complete and both sides can leave feedback.
A simple example
You take an offer for 100 USDT at 1,000 KES per USDT.
You pay 100,000 KES to the seller. The 100 USDT stays locked until the seller confirms receipt, then it moves to your P2P wallet.
When something goes wrong
Keep the conversation and payment evidence in the trade room. If a payment is not received, a payment window expires, or the other side disputes the transfer, use the appeal or dispute action shown for that trade. Do not send funds outside the payment details shown in the active order.
P2P payments are between traders. Check the recipient, amount, currency, and payment reference before you confirm a transfer.
